| Bradley M.Harris Scholarship |
To be awarded to a freshman who has enrolled in classes in the Department of Mathematics and who is considering (or declared) mathematics as a major. |

| James L.Eisele Scholarship |
To be awarded to a freshman who has enrolled in classes in the Department of Mathematics and who is considering (or declared) mathematics as a major. Students who live in Centerline or Belleville will be chosen first. |

| Sandra J. Lobbestael Scholarship |
To be awarded to a student who has achieved at least sophomore standing and has a strong interest in mathematics. |
Sandra J. Lobbestael was awarded the Mabel Jarvis Leib scholarship in 1966. She received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from EMU and continued her studies and earned her masters degree at Vassar College. The Department of Chemistry awards a scholarship in her name also. Currently, she resides in Pinckney. |
| Hilton G. Falahee Scholarship |
To be awarded to a mathematics major who has an excellent grade point in math and shows promise in the application of mathematics. The award is based on ability rather than need. |
Hilton "Dutch" Falahee was a professor of mathematics at Eastern, and was probably one of the most popular teachers in the department . He suffered a heart attack and passed away just after his 50th birthday. Kathleen Falahee was awarded the Leib scholarship in 1969 and was instrumental in setting up this scholarship to honor her father. |
| Carl M. Erikson Scholarship |
To be awarded to any math major |
"Carl Erikson was a long-time faculty member in the Department of Mathematics but it was before my time", recalls Dr. Northey. Dr. Erikson taught at EMU from 1925-1957. He loved teaching and watching his students grow. You can read more about him here. |
| Mabel Jarvis Leib Scholarship |
To be awarded for Excellence in Elementary and Secondary Education Recipient should have (a) established a good academic record at Eastern, (b) demonstrated teaching potential and has chosen teaching as a career, and (c) demonstrated above-average scholarship in mathematics. |
Mabel Jarvis Leib's husband was a professor in the physics department. A scholarship in his name, Floyd Leib, is awarded the the Department of Physics. The family endowed this scholarship in the Department of Mathematics to honor his wife. |
| Doc M Scholarship |
To be awarded to an outstanding mathematics major |
Dr. Marshall came to EMU in 1968 immediately after receiving his doctorate from the University of Michigan. He was the organizer of the Math Club and served as the advisor to Mathematics majors up until the time of his death. Classes taught by Dr. Marshall were immensely popular especially his College Geometry course for which he had written a text book. He was well known for his service and was the first recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award for service to the University. |
| Don Buckeye Scholarship |
To be awarded to an outstanding elementary or secondary mathematics education major. |
Dr. Donald Buckeye began his teaching career at Eastern Michigan University in 1968. He was a national leader in mathematics education and a leading author of K-12 materials that fostered hands-on problem solving activities. Dr. Buckeye is most remembered for his sense of humor, his love of teaching and how much he cared about each of his students. |
