Dr. Joan Jones receives Teaching Award
Joan
Jones, a professor of mathematics received this year's Ronald W. Collins Distinguished
Faculty Teaching II Award, which is given to faculty with 5 or more years
of teaching experience at EMU.
While teaching future elementary teachers the neccessary concepts of mathematics,
Jones is able to make an often difficult subject fun for her students.
The award included a plaque and $3,500 honorarium. She received her doctorate in Mathematics Education and her Master's in Mathematics from Georgia State University and her bachelor's degree from Herbert Lehmen College CUNY.
