His current research area is applied probability, queueing,
and inventory systems. He is also very interested in math modeling in
general, and is hoping to organize some teams to participate in the Math
Contest in Modeling. In addition, he is organizing a "Numb3rs Club",
where students meet and discuss the math shown in the CBS crime drama
Numb3rs.

Dr. Ross grew up in San Diego, California but is handling a 4-season
climate fairly well. His wife is a clarinetist and biologist, and his
daughter is only a toddler and so has yet to specialize much. You might
see Dr. Ross riding his recumbent bike around campus.

Dr. Andrew Ross

Dr. Ross joins us from Lehigh University, where he taught for 4 1/2 years in the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department. His PhD is from the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research Dept. at U.C. Berkeley.
