Fred Hughes: Last July, my wife Aurelia and I took a dream trip that included stops in Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, Victoria, and Fairmount Hot Springs, British Columbia, Banff Springs and Calgary, Alberta, and finished off with a week long cruise to Alaska with stops in Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan. The sights were wonderful and full of excitement every day. We combined almost three weeks of nature and golf. It was a truly memorable experience. This is not the Loch-Ness monster! It's just the whales Fred shot in Alaska.

Ovidiu Calin: Last summer I visited Taiwan for about one month to do research at NCTS. I was exposed for the first time to Chinese culture which I found very interesting. The food was very tasty and organic. Chinese people are very nice and friendly. I am planning to go for another visit next summer.

Walter Parry: I traveled to Brigham Young University in the summer to continue a research project with Jim Cannon of BYU and Bill Floyd of Virginia Tech. One day we went for a hike in the mountains near the university. They are also close that we can walk from Jim's house into the mountains to where these photos were taken.
