April Warren graduated in 2001. She is a 7th grade mathematics teacher at Walnut Creek Middle School in Walled Lake Consolidated Schools.
Susanna (Moore) Smelcer graduated in December 1994. Susanna is a middle school math teacher at Adams Middle School in Wayne Westland Community Schools. Currrently, she is working on her masters degree in Educational Leadership at EMU.
Diane Meyers graduated in January 1963. Her first teaching position was at a junior high school in Farmington. After taking time off for her family, running a travel agency, and even teaching in Hawaii, Diane has spent the last four years teaching mathematics in the middle school in Adrian Public Schools. Diane most cherishes the lasting friendships that she made while a student at EMU.
Jodi (Parr) Tye graduated in June 1996. Currently she is teaching middle school mathematics in Pinckney Schools. Jodi is working on her masters degree in middle level education with a concentration in mathematics at EMU. Jodi enjoys being back at EMU for her graduate studies. “It’s fun to see friends in my classes that I knew as an undergraduate. EMU is a very comfortable place.”
Geoffrey Lincoln writes that he’s been teaching middle school math in Las Vegas, Nevada. “I absolutely love it out here. I have two TVs in the classroom and it has been great for students to copy down notes and see live examples and real-world applications of math through technology. I’m the assistant varsity basketball coach of the high school that our middle school feeds into and we are ranked number three in the state. We have an excellent chance to win the Nevada State Championship in three weeks.”
Shawn Rafalski
graduated in April 2001. He is a
graduate student in mathematics at the University
of Illinois at Chicago. He has a
four-year VIGRE fellowship. In his first year he
passed the master's exam and both required
preliminary exams. He is in the difficult
process of choosing a research topic and thesis
advisor.

degree in math in 1998 and his masters in math
